The Tokyo PMC catalog 90-93: Catalog of positions of 6649 stars observed in 1990 through 1993 with Tokyo photoelectric meridian circle
The sixth annual catalog of the Tokyo Photoelectric Meridian Circle(PMC) is presented for 6649 stars which were observed at least two timesin January 1990 through March 1993. The mean positions of the starsobserved are given in the catalog at the corresponding mean epochs ofobservations of individual stars. The coordinates of the catalog arebased on the FK5 system, and referred to the equinox and equator ofJ2000.0. The mean local deviations of the observed positions from theFK5 catalog positions are constructed for the basic FK5 stars to comparewith those of the Tokyo PMC Catalog 89 and preliminary Hipparcos resultsof H30.

Vitesses radiales. Catalogue WEB: Wilson Evans Batten. Subtittle: Radial velocities: The Wilson-Evans-Batten catalogue.
We give a common version of the two catalogues of Mean Radial Velocitiesby Wilson (1963) and Evans (1978) to which we have added the catalogueof spectroscopic binary systems (Batten et al. 1989). For each star, when possible, we give: 1) an acronym to enter SIMBAD (Set ofIdentifications Measurements and Bibliography for Astronomical Data) ofthe CDS (Centre de Donnees Astronomiques de Strasbourg). 2) the numberHIC of the HIPPARCOS catalogue (Turon 1992). 3) the CCDM number(Catalogue des Composantes des etoiles Doubles et Multiples) byDommanget & Nys (1994). For the cluster stars, a precise study hasbeen done, on the identificator numbers. Numerous remarks point out theproblems we have had to deal with.

An IUE survey of interstellar H I LY alpha absorption. 1: Column densities
We measure Galactic interstellar neutral hydrogen column densities byanalyzing archival interstellar Ly alpha absorption line data toward 554B2 and hotter stars observed at high resolution with the IUE satellite. This study more than doubles the number of lines of sight with measuresof N(H I) based on Ly alpha. We have included the scattered lightbackground correction algorithm of Bianchi and Bohlin in our datareduction. We use the correlation between the Balmer discontinuity(c1) index and the stellar Ly alpha absorption in order toassess the effects of stellar Ly alpha contamination. Approximately 40%of the B stars with measured (c1) index, exhibit seriousstellar Ly alpha contamination. One table contains the derived values ofthe interstellar N(H I) for 393 stars with at most small amounts ofstellar contamination. Another lists the observed values of total N(H I)for 161 stars with suspected stellar Ly alpha contamination and/oruncertain stellar parameters.

Empirical temperature calibrations for early-type stars
Three temperature calibrations of suitable photometric quantities havebeen derived for O and B stars. A sample of 120 stars with reliableT(eff.) determinations has been used for establishing each calibration. The different calibrations have been critically discussed and compared.Temperature determinations for 1009 program stars have been obtainedwith an accuracy of the order of 10 percent.

Catalog of O-B stars observed with Tokyo Meridian Circle
A catalog of the O-B stars, selected from 'Blaauw-Parenago' list andRubin's catalog, has been compiled on the FK4 system by the observationsmade with Gautier 8-inch Meridian Circle at the Tokyo AstronomicalObservatory during the period, 1971 to 1979. It contains 1059 stars andwas compiled for the future establishment of high precision propermotions of O-B stars.

Catalog of BV magnitudes and spectral classes of 6000 stars
The present catalog, compiled at the Abastumani Observatory, contains BVmagnitudes and spectral classes of about 6000 stars up to V(lim) = 13.0min five circular areas of 18 sq deg located near the salactic-equatorplane. The catalog is intended for star-statistics studies ofstar-formation regions.

Intermediate-band photometry in the open cluster NGC 6664
Four-color and H-beta photometry is given for early-type stars in theopen cluster NGC 6664. From these data, the true distance modulus isfound to be 10.7 and the reddening is found to range from E/b y) = 0.48to 0.63 across the cluster. The distance modulus agrees well with somevalues from the literature, but the present color excesses are about 0.1mag larger than published values. There are two or perhaps three bluestragglers in the cluster, and its age is estimated to be 46 millionyears.

Helium abundance in atmospheres of stars appearing in OB associations and young clusters
An improved version of Liubimkov's (1974) method is used to determinethe relative helium abundance, N(He)/N(H), in the atmospheres of 80stars of spectral types O6.5 to B2 belonging to OB associations andyoung clusters. Specific results are presented for Mon OB1 and OB2, CepOB2 and OB3, Sco OB2, Lac OB1, Ori OB1, and Cas OB6. It is shown thatthe mean value of N(He)/N(H) increases with increasing stellar age andincreasing cluster or association size. A relative helium abundance of0.09 to 0.10 is found to be appropriate for stars that are severalmillion years old, and a relative abundance of 0.13 is obtained forstars older than 10 million years. It is noted that the latter value isalso characteristic of hot field stars.

The value of R in Monoceros
Recent photometric and spectroscopic observations are used inconjunction with other data for early-type stars in northern Monocerosin order to investigate the local value of R (the ratio of total toselective extinction). From a variable-extinction analysis, it isconcluded that a ratio of approximately 3.2 is appropriate for thegeneral interstellar extinction in this region and that there is noevidence here for the existence of local anomalies. The two majorassociations Mon OB 1 and Mon OB 2 are clearly delineated and are foundto exhibit properties typical of such young stellar groups. Derivedproperties for a few interesting stars are presented.
