Search

Search function allows to find astronomical objects by name or catalog Id, i.e. "Sirius", "Ursa Major", "alpha Andromedae", "β and", "HD 12345", "M 100", "NGC 1234"...

TODO: Localized search (search by object name in different languages)

− Fixed UTF-8 encoding problem in javascript, added localized search by constellation names

− Localized search by any type of object implemented, still need some interfaces for filling database.

TODO: Search by equatorial coordinates, i.e. "12 25 45 +60 20 45", where "12 25 45" is right ascension (12^h 25^m 45^s) and "+60 20 45" is declination (+60° 20′ 45″).
TODO: Ability to turn off pointer box(es)
TODO: Support multiple pointer boxes
TODO: Drop down menu on multiple results (currently it picks first available)

Data changes tracking

Any visitor can change data, i.e. Object's details, links to external resources, classification groups and so on. Depends on resource settings the changes can become public immediately or wait for resource's moderator approval.

TODO: There is no way to edit or delete the link's information.
TODO: When adding a new link to an object's page - after submiting the link's information - the system shows blank page. It must go back to this object's page.

Non-stellar objects

Currently WIKISKY's DB contains stars and galaxies data only

TODO: Add other object types support though out the project

− Coding is done, still need to upload nebula's and clusters catalogs

− Uploaded HYPERLEDA-I galaxies catalogue (VII/237)

− added NGC and IC catalogue Ids for galaxies only

− finished with drawing and labeling for galaxies
