UBV photometry of wide visual double stars. V. Double stars with mainly K- and M- type primaries.
We present UBV photometric observations of 55 wide visual double starswith K- and M- type primaries. Our observations have been compared andcombined with information available in the literature. At least 58% ofthem are optical pairs.

Vitesses radiales. Catalogue WEB: Wilson Evans Batten. Subtittle: Radial velocities: The Wilson-Evans-Batten catalogue.
We give a common version of the two catalogues of Mean Radial Velocitiesby Wilson (1963) and Evans (1978) to which we have added the catalogueof spectroscopic binary systems (Batten et al. 1989). For each star,when possible, we give: 1) an acronym to enter SIMBAD (Set ofIdentifications Measurements and Bibliography for Astronomical Data) ofthe CDS (Centre de Donnees Astronomiques de Strasbourg). 2) the numberHIC of the HIPPARCOS catalogue (Turon 1992). 3) the CCDM number(Catalogue des Composantes des etoiles Doubles et Multiples) byDommanget & Nys (1994). For the cluster stars, a precise study hasbeen done, on the identificator numbers. Numerous remarks point out theproblems we have had to deal with.

Periods, amplitudes, and luminosities of red supergiants
The periods of 22 red supergiants have been determined using the resultsof electrophotometric observations. The period-luminosity-spectrum andamplitude-luminosity-spectrum dependences for the red supergiants havebeen obtained. The masses and luminosities of these stars are estimated.

Is there nonluminous matter in dwarf spheroidal galaxies
Evidence from tidal masses indicates that mass-to-light ratios of dwarfspheroidal galaxies are roughly one order of magnitude larger than thoseof globular clusters. It is tentatively inferred that dwarf spheroidalgalaxies contain large amounts of nonluminous matter and in this regardresemble bigger galaxies. The luminosity profiles of dwarf spheroidalgalaxies are also shown to be consistent with exponential laws, possiblyindicating a closer evolutionary link to spiral-irregular galaxies thanto elliptical galaxies.

Photoelectric two-dimensional spectral classification of M supergiants
A photoelectric system defined by eight narrow bands between 0.7 and 1.1microns has been used to measure nearly all M supergiants that have beenclassified on the MK system. The photometric TiO and CN indicesreproduce the two-dimensional MK classifications to the accuracy of theMK types themselves. Mean fluxes and spectral classifications arepresented for 128 stars.
